Deep Calls to Deep

The line comes from Psalms 42:7.

Deep calls to Deep.

That which is primeval, ancient, infinite calls.

It calls for its brother, its reflection, its counterpart.

That which is deep in me, foundational, in the bones, in the genes, in the history of my life and the lives of my ancestors, going back to the earliest days of life on this planet—-

calls to that same depth in you.

The depths of my heart, the dark places that I am scared to go

call to your dark, scary places.
