Just do what’s easy…

Many times as a therapist, you’ll think “what should I do now?”

What can I say that will possibly help this person?

What would a really good therapist say?

Our mind is constantly dreaming, constantly responding to our experience with new thoughts, emotions and fantasies.

We get stuck because we constrict this flow, don’t acknowledge and listen to it, think we shouldn’t be thinking and feeling something.

Sometimes the most helpful thing is the most obvious.

“I feel stuck.”

“Well I don’t know what to say.”

“I’m thinking it would be very upsetting if I said the wrong thing right now.”

We want our patients to experience greater ease in their lives, but it can be hard to grant the same for us.
